Steve Bass

History:

Steve’s love for music started when he was a young teenager where he entered the world of Latin American ballroom dancing. For Steve this was a joining of two passions music and dance. Within 12 months Steve and his dance partner had won the Victorian State Finals.

     
         
 

A further 12 months saw them take out the Australian Dance Championships which they held for 5 consecutive years as well as the South Pacific Titles. After retiring from competition Steve turned professional and continued doing exhibition Latin American for another two years.  

Steve’s interest in various sports took over where he competed in a number of sports at elite level, but he seriously missed being able to express the music and rhythm that he felt within.  

In 2003 Steve decided to reignite his passion for music, in particular guitar. Along this amazing road Steve met Cliff and with their combined passion for music and guitar it wasn’t long before they became great mates and formed “ Out of Focus”.

Steve’s strengths are guitar and harmonica and he finds that singing adds an extra dimension to his music allowing him to express what he feels inside. Steve loves the performance aspect of his music and the fact that he is able to share this with his mate Cliff and beautiful wife Tam (backup vocals).
